The Government’s Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) for the energy rating of dwellings is due to be released some time during 2019. We have been working through the 176 page document in order to help point you towards the parts which relate to HWS and DHW system design. Control of systems is playing a big part.

You can download the full document here.

SAP 10.0 has been published to allow readers to compare it to SAP 2012 and understand the methodological changes made ahead of any future official use. As such it is not a consultation version, however any comments can be directed to [email protected].

You can download a summary of the changes from SAP 2012 here.

Updates on control of HWS can be found on the following pages of the full document 107, 139, 140-145. Amendments to SAP’s Hot Water Methodology can be found here.

SAP 2012 must continue to be used for Building Regulation compliance and for producing Energy Performance Certificates until further notice.
