Energy Recovery Systems

Stainless steel energy recovery systems designed to capture, transfer and recycle thermal energy across dairy, water heating and process applications.

Energy is often lost during heating, cooling and process operations. Fabdec’s energy recovery systems are designed to help capture, transfer and reuse this energy more effectively.

From refrigeration heat recovery to water-source heat exchange and pillow plate heat transfer surfaces, our systems are built around proven stainless steel manufacturing. This gives customers a practical way to improve efficiency, reduce waste and support lower-carbon heating and cooling applications.

Each solution is designed for real operating environments. Therefore, our focus is not only on energy savings, but also reliability, hygiene, durability and long service life.

Heat Recovery

SPAR-HEAT is Fabdec’s heat recovery system, designed to recover waste heat from refrigeration systems and reuse it for hot water production. By capturing heat that would otherwise be lost during the cooling process, SPAR-HEAT helps reduce energy waste, improve system efficiency and support lower running costs. Commonly used in dairy applications, the system is also suitable for other refrigeration-led environments where recovered heat can be reused. Available for new installations or retrofit projects, SPAR-HEAT uses stainless steel construction, double-walled coil technology and a low-maintenance design with no moving parts.

Energy Blades

Energy Blades are stainless steel water-source heat exchangers designed to collect energy from lakes, rivers, reservoirs and other suitable water sources. They are typically used with ground or water-source heat pump systems, transferring energy between the surrounding water and a circulating fluid. Available as free-standing units or for mounting beneath jetties and platforms, Energy Blades provide a compact, durable and adaptable solution for water-based heat exchange projects.

Pillow Plates

Fabdec’s pillow plate THERMOPLATES are laser-welded stainless steel heat transfer surfaces used for heating, cooling and energy recovery applications. Manufactured in-house, they can be integrated into tanks, process vessels and bespoke heat exchange systems as jackets, immersion panels or transfer surfaces. Their large surface area supports efficient temperature control, making them suitable for dairy, food, beverage, water heating and wider process applications.

Why Energy Recovery Matters

Heating, cooling and refrigeration systems can lose valuable energy during normal operation, especially where heat is removed from one process and released unused. Energy recovery helps capture some of this wasted heat and put it back to use, reducing unnecessary energy demand and improving overall system efficiency.

For businesses with regular heating, cooling or refrigeration requirements, this can support lower running costs and make better use of existing equipment. Whether the application involves refrigeration heat recovery, water-source heat exchange or process temperature control, the principle remains the same: recover, transfer and reuse energy wherever practical.
